Health and Safety Risk Assessment – Online

This online course provides students with knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and the skills required to identify hazards, assess risks and identify control and monitoring measures for risks in a given workplace.

Certification

After successful completion of the online course you will be issued with an electronic badge. Before we can issue you with a formal Health and Safety Risk Assessment Certificate, you will need to contact Wood Training with proof of identity.

Course Content

The course focuses on:

  • Understanding the legislative and company structure for managing and assessing risk.
  • Understanding individual responsibilities for managing and assessing risk.
  • Understanding and using a JSA/JHA and the risk assessment matrix.
  • Demonstrating and using the correct forms and procedures for reporting hazards and assessing risk.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the principles of health and safety risk assessment.
  • Apply health and safety risk assessment to a job role in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry good practice.

Related training

Competency in US 30265 will be accepted as meeting the hazard management pre- requisite for our Common Permit to Work training.

This course is an online course.

Assessment process

It consists of online learning modules that you work through at your own pace. At the very end of the course there are summative assessment tasks.

Revalidation/Refresher

To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.
