Plan a Confined Space Entry Refresher – Online

This online course provide students with an update on good practice for confined space and opportunity to demonstrate continued competency in planning for confined space entry.

Certification

After successful completion of the online course you will be issued with an electronic badge. Before we can issue you with a formal Plan a Confined Space Refresher Certificate, you will need to contact Wood Training with proof of identity.

Course Content

The course focuses on:

  • Risk management.
  • Confined space hazards and controls.
  • Pre entry testing.
  • Responsibilities of entrants and safety observer.
  • Emergency procedures.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Confined space hazards and controls to manage those hazards
  • Exposure limits.
  • Key role responsibilities.
  • Emergency planning.
  • Confined space entry documentation.

Course structure

This course is an online course.

After you contact Wood Training, we will send you a confirmation email with a self-enrolment key. You will be prompt- ed in the system to set up a profile, with information that we need for your enrolment.

You will need to have:

  • Access to a computer and stable internet
  • An email address

Course prerequisites

Student must already hold Unit Standard 18426 and 17599 or a documented equivalent that is deemed acceptable by Wood Training.

Assessment process

It consists of online learn- ing modules that you work through at your own pace. At the very end of the course there are summative assessment tasks and a requirement to complete an attestation that is signed by your workplace supervisor. If you are unable to fulfill the attestation requirement contact us.

Revalidation/Refresher

To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.

Steve’s background includes serving with the Royal Marines Commando, a teacher of Art and Design, Fire Fighter (NZFS), Ship Security Officer maintaining security. His personal passion lies with mountaineering and climbing, bringing valuable rope skills and rescue to the Industrial rope access industry. Steve has a strong understanding of teams working under high pressure in high hazard and high stress environments. He holds a postgraduate Certificate in Education as well as qualifications in Training, Assessment, Rope Access and Occupation and Health and Safety.

Consultant, Training Facilitator and company director, Mal has a history of work in the oil and gas sector, process operation and hazard management.  He has extensive experience in many roles in the workforce and brings authentic experience to the training situation.  With a background in physics, chemistry, statistics and human anatomy he knows his subject matter well, and this knowledge and experience comes to the fore in his training and delivery.
