Workplace Safety Essentials – Online

This course provides students with knowledge of basic workplace safety, an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the skills needed to then apply key principles in the workplace. It will also provide an overview on the responsibilities of people in the workforce including steps to take to ensure the safety of themselves and others.

Certification

After successful completion of the online course, you will be issued with an electronic badge. Before we can issue you with a formal Workplace Safety Essentials Certificate, you will need to contact Wood Training with proof of identity.

The course focuses on:

  • Health and Safety At Work Act 2015. (HSWA).
  • Workplace health and safety requirements
  • The system approach
  • Incident and hazard reporting’
  • Hazard identification

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify and describe legislative rights and responsibilities for workplace health and safety.
  • Describe the systems approach to workplace health and safety.
  • Explain how risks and hazards are defined in the HSWA 2015.
